Thanks to LinkedIn, we are all keenly aware of the power professional social networking offers businesses. Now, with LinkedIn Signals, you can take that power to the next level, as your opportunities for lead generation, sales and marketing, and recruitment and prospecting are increased exponentially. Here’s the best part: You don't need lots of LinkedIn training to understand how it works.
How to Use LinkedIn Signals
LinkedIn Signals, launched just recently by the professional networking platform, offers a new way of searching. Much more than a simple search engine, LinkedIn Signals individualizes your searches to deliver what want to see, when you want to see it. Here’s how it works:
- Click on Search Updates and type in a search term. Something akin to a news feed pops up on the screen. This provides updates, articles, group discussions and anything else within LinkedIn that is currently discussing the search topic.
- On the left side, an expanded search options menu allows users to filter the information to obtain the desired specifics. Looking for jobs in that area? Click on “Staffing and Recruiting” under Industry. If the goal is to find marketers instead, click on “Marketing and Advertising.” Looking for information pertaining to geographical areas? Specific companies? Connections in the same industry? Done, done, and done. Search for anything within specific parameters.
- Monitor the feed and click away at links, trending tags and even profiles and groups.
Why Use LinkedIn Signals
LinkedIn Signals is, of course, very dynamic for those of us who are looking for more innovative, more accessible ways to find information within LinkedIn. But for those of us who are looking for new sales leads, prospect opportunities or even employment, the new way to search on LinkedIn is downright heaven-sent.
Use LinkedIn Signals in the recruiting and retention processes to determine who are your prospective colleagues and employees. More importantly, LinkedIn Signals provides an effective way to identify sales leads by conducted filter searches according to the company’s exact needs. The filters provide the ability to search for specific opportunities to generate sales and gain prospective clients.
