LinkedIn Signals, launched just recently by the professional networking platform, offers a new way of searching. Much more than a simple search engine, LinkedIn Signals individualizes your searches to deliver what want to see, when you want to see it. Here’s how it works:
- Click on Search Updates and type in a search term. Something akin to a news feed pops up on the screen. This provides updates, articles, group discussions and anything else within LinkedIn that is currently discussing the search topic.
- On the left side, an expanded search options menu allows users to filter the information to obtain the desired specifics. Looking for jobs in that area? Click on “Staffing and Recruiting” under Industry. If the goal is to find marketers instead, click on “Marketing and Advertising.” Looking for information pertaining to geographical areas? Specific companies? Connections in the same industry? Done, done, and done. Search for anything within specific parameters.
- Monitor the feed and click away at links, trending tags and even profiles and groups.
